Through the big man’s efforts, his team stands third in the Eastern Conference with an impressive 39-20 record.

Following Embiid’s 41-point outing against the Boston Celtics, Bayless sent out a tweet that read, “Joel Embiid is the NBA MVP.” Despite the 76ers losing the game, he tried all in his power to propel his squad to victory. In fact, he was only a fraction of a second late in handing his squad the win, converting an unbelievable full-court shot that was ruled a no-basket after review.

The MVP race this season has been a competitive one. Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Nikola Jokic continue to play out of their minds for their respective teams. However, Bayless overlooked all of the players mentioned above when he chose Embiid as his MVP pick. During the season, the Philly superstar has averaged 33.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. In addition to a well-polished offensive game, he has been a defensive stalwart for his squad as well.
