Tyler Herro winning 2022 Sixth Man of the Year sent many waves of appreciation across NBA world. Check out the best of Twitter reactions to it. The Sixth Man of the Year was the latest individual accolade to be announced, for which the league has now disclosed its voting count and announced the winner. Well there was not much of surprise in this one as Tyler Herro of Miami Heat had it wrapped up well in advance with consistent performances off-the-bench. As per the vote counts, Herro won the award with handsome margin and became 1st Miami heat player to win this special accolade.

Drafted as 13th overall pick in 2019, Herro played major role in Heats’ 2020 playoff run in the Orlando Bubble. After which he endures a relatively tough season. However, the dream story continued in 2022 regular season also as he averaged 20.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in 32.6 minutes in 66 games. His scoring average of 20.8 points as a reserve was the highest in the NBA.

Herro caught everyone’s attention in his very 1st season, scoring some important points for the team in the 2020 postseason. Though Lakers managed to win the title in NBA Bubble, it was Tyler Herro from losing side who managed to grab most of the headlines after LeBron James and the Lakers.

Tyler Herro managed to score astonishing 1100+ points (1162 to be exact) in a single-season, setting franchise record for points off the bench. He did start in 10 games for the team, and was instrumental in helping the Heat finish with a 53-29 record. Heat secured top spot, despite some absentees in long runs, thanks to  Miami’s depth led by Tyler Herro.

As per voting records, Tyler received 488 points and runners up Kevin Love ended with 214 points. He received 96 1st place votes out of 100, which was major factor in his win. Other players considered for the trophy were, Phoenix Suns’ Cam Johnson (128 points), Utah Jazz’s Jordan Clarkson (27 points), and Luke Kennard of LA Clippers (12 points).

The dynamic scorer will have a special edition 75th Anniversary commemorative trophy, in celebration of the honor, gifted in addition to the Kia NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award trophy. The commemorative trophy, composed of a solid crystal basketball, features the NBA 75 logo 3D laser etched and suspended within its center.
