Nets star Kevin Durant blames his ‘trade-saga’ for Nets being out of Christmas Day action

The Brooklyn Nets, one of the top NBA teams, will not be in action on Christmas. The most recent game, in which the Nets won 143-113 over the Golden State Warriors, was one of their last 10 victories. The Nets are not playing on Christmas this year, and Kevin Durant is aware of the reason.
Speaking on the matter Durant said, “Yeah, Knicks-Nets would’ve been a great Christmas Day matchup, There’s probably some people, especially with how the Knicks are playing and the way we’re playing right now, I feel like that would be the perfect matchup on Christmas.” Further he jokingly blamed himself for Nets not playing on Christmas, “I probably am responsible for us not playing on Christmas, with what went on this summer. But hey, it is what it is. We play on the 26th, that’s close enough”
To the NBA’s defense, it was uncertain whether Durant would play for the Nets this year after he asked to be traded from Brooklyn in the offseason. The NBA reduced Brooklyn’s national television schedule from 26 to 13 games in addition to the holiday schedule. However, the Nets are currently in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, two games ahead of the Knicks in sixth.
The day after Christmas, the Nets take on the Cleveland Cavaliers after taking on the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. The 76ers and Knicks, Lakers and Mavericks, Bucks and Celtics, Grizzlies and Warriors, Suns and Nuggets, and other teams will play each other on Christmas Day.
Kevin Durant-led Brooklyn Nets thrash the Warriors

After winning two championships with the Golden State Warriors, Kevin Durant will always be associated with them; nevertheless, on Wednesday, he and the Brooklyn Nets humiliated his old team. The Nets’ 91-point first-half performance against the Warriors will go down as one of the best offensive halves in NBA history, despite the fact that the game substantially cooled down in the second half.
Overall, it was a wonderfully well-balanced performance. No Net player scored more than 23 points to win the game, but nine Brooklyn players did, and all 12 players they employed scored at least five. Even without playing All-Star guard Kyrie Irving, against Golden State, the Nets thrashed the clearly depleted Warriors.
It is only the most recent in a string of triumphs for Brooklyn. The Nets have now won 10 of their last 11 games and seven straight. The Nets have combined one of the league’s top offenses with a surprisingly strong defense to move up the Eastern Conference standings after a sluggish and contentious start to the season.
