Klay Thompson now has another reason to let loose for celebration purposes. Two nights ago, the Golden State Warriors brought back home what was rightfully theirs. Making their sixth appearance in eight years, the team made it point to show haters that they belong on top. The franchise now has a total of 7 championships taking the third spot for most title reigns in NBA history.
The Warriors had a rough start to the series after Boston Celtics unloaded their defensive schemes thereby stopping much productivity on offense. Stephen Curry led the team with his elite level scoring power finishing Game 4 with 43 points. During Games 5 and 6, the Celtics struggled with turnovers which gave the Dubs an easy cut to the title. Curry won his first ever Finals MVP as well averaging 31.2 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.

“All we do is shoot 3s and win championships,” said Klay Thompson on the podium while celebrating the victory along with his splash brother. He took his time to acknowledge his time away from the game and what it meant winning his fourth title the same season he returned. He said, “I’m just thankful to be here, this is crazy. I can’t even believe it. I knew it was possibility, but to see it in real time, holy cannoli.”

Thompson had a tough years away from the game beginning in 2019 when he endured a ruptured Achilles Tendon against the Toronto Raptors. As he was set to return during the 2020-21 season, he tore his ACL which kept him away from playing for another year. Thompson averaged 20.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game this season shooting 42.9% from the field.

Klay Thompson took to Twitter to share an image of his and long-time friend Neymar. The two became close in 2016 after the Dubs won their first title together. This was exactly when both players were just starting out their careers and bursting out on the sports scene.
Neymar has been a legend in the sport of soccer who currently serves for the Brazilian National Team. He has won multiple title playing with the Paris Saint-Germain under Ligue 1. He is a very versatile player who shifts between various striking positions, mid fielding and the forward position as well. He became the world champion with Brazil in 2013 and is two time Olympics medalist.
