The Brooklyn Nets sought to win their eighth straight game when they faced the Milwaukee Bucks on December 23. They succeeded in their mission, but not without controversy. Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Bucks pulled Nic Claxton, the starting center for the Nets, to the ground by his arm in the closing seconds of the third quarter.
Despite the fact that nothing happened following the play in the game, Claxton objected to the acts of the two-time Most Valuable Player. Following the competition, Claxton posted an Instagram story video of the play and a poll asking, “Is this basketball?” For what it’s worth, the poll found that 26% of respondents agreed and 74% disagreed.
The Nets entered the game with the NBA’s longest active winning streak, but it was clear from the first tip that they felt they had something to prove. Nic Claxton claims he’s the best defender in the league

He further added, “We’ve been winning, my numbers are good. I’ve been protecting the rim, guarding one through five. So it’s just me being me, doing what I do, bringing that energy. And it’s great for the team.”
There is no disputing that he is contributing to the Nets‘ explosive growth. With a 21-12 run, they are presently ranked fourth in the East. Their key players, Durant and Irving, have been on a roll and are almost certain to make the playoffs.
