In an unexpected development, the Serbian national squad is about to receive a big boost in their national basketball squad. The formidable center for the Denver Nuggets, Nikola Jokic, is about to re-enter international play when he joins the Serbian team for Paris Olympics 2024 to face off against the mighty trio of the USA team in the likes of LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.
NBA champion Jokic, who missed Serbia’s silver medal-winning performance at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, is now preparing to take on these titans of basketball. The excitement for this titanic battle of basketballs has increased after Bozidar Maljkovic, the president of the Serbian Olympic Committee, casually disclosed that Jokic will be in the team when they compete in Paris next year.
While talking to the media, Maljkovic stated, “Notice we didn’t have NBA MVP Jokic. “Neither did [Vasilije] Micic, MVP of the EuroLeague, or [Nikola] Kalinic. I think we came together and brought out the best in us, as in all sports. There you have [Novak] Djokovic’s season. And we have Ivana Spanovic, the world champion in the long jump. By the way, I’ve already announced that everyone is going to be in Paris, Jokic included. The Paris Games are going to be a party, and I am confident that Serbian sport will have a great participation.“
The high-stakes match is highly anticipated by fans worldwide, and Jokic’s Serbia matchup with the star studded Team USA including the formidable trio of James, Curry, and Durant looks to be a pivotal one.

Nuggets star Nikola Jokic shares optimistic view on Jamal Murray
Denver Nuggets’ superstar and former MVP Nikola Jokic has expressed immense confidence in Jamal Murray‘s abilities coming towards the beginning of the NBA 2023-24 season.

Jokić pointed out that since his recovery from ACL injury, Murray has not only healed but also substantially improved. Jokić claims that Murray’s increased game comprehension, maturity, and experience have made him a better player. Murray’s injuries forced him to improve his understanding of the game despite the obstacle, which helped him develop as an athlete.
There was some doubts about Murray’s performance when he returned to the floor following his ACL surgery. Even though he showed glimpses of brilliance during the 2020 NBA playoffs, his ability to recover from such a serious injury was questioned due to the difficult procedure. But now that he’s fully recovered, Murray is getting ready for the NBA season with the Denver Nuggets, hoping to help the team win back-to-back championships.
Murray demonstrated his skill during the 2022-23 regular season by shooting an incredible 45.3% from the field in 64 games while averaging 20 points, a career-high 6.2 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game. Murray’s effectiveness intensified throughout the Nuggets’ run for the NBA championship. He led the team in points, steals, assists, rebounds, free throw percentage, and minutes played, among other statistical categories.
