Nikola Jokic, unfortunately, snaps mammoth 200+ games streak in close win against Timberwolves despite scoring 35 points

Nikola Jokic is one of the most complete players to ever play in the league. Well, it seems like the Joker has it all in his bag. Leading the Nuggets in points, assists, and rebounds this season, the Serbian has yet again proved his versatility to be top-notch.

Notably, the European players in the NBA are known to have excellent court vision and game IQ. Jokic, without a doubt, is one of the best examples of the same.

In the recent game against the Timberwolves, Nikola Jokic broke a unique streak, which went unnoticed. The Joker went off, putting up 35 points, and 16 rebounds, while ending his streak of recording at least 3+ assists each game, as Jokic managed to drop two dimes. Since November 2021, the Joker has managed to put up at least three assists each game.

This streak went on for 201 games, ending the record on Tuesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Interestingly, the Joker has also averaged nine assists per contest in those 200+ games.

Jokic has an excellent vision, finding the open player or shooter for the bucket each time. Even behind the Joker’s passing are some insightful stats that tell a lot about his understanding of his teammates’ abilities.

Nikola Jokic knows where to find who

This season, Jokic has passed the ball the most to Jamal Murray. Not only that but Murray is averaging 41% from three and 49% from the inside when receiving a pass from Jokic.

Knowing Murray’s ability to shoot, the Joker knows where to find the sniper. Reggie Jackson also averages similar numbers from three when Jokic initiates the offense.

Michael Porter Jr. on the other hand, attempts most of his three-pointers after collecting the dime from the Joker. Passing doesn’t always involve finding the open man but also creating opportunities for teammates to make their own shots. This is one of the reasons why the Nuggets have excelled on the offensive end of the floor each season.

Dominating each stat line, while feeding the teammates on a certain possession, is what makes the Joker a unique player. His game looks quite effortless from the fans’ perspective, but one can tell what goes behind his magic.

With that being said, there is no denying that Jokic and the Nuggets continue to shine bright in the West, establishing their mark as a tough title contender. It will be interesting to see where Denver stands by the end of the regular season.
