It seems Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic is making it extremely difficult for opposing players to stop him. Many top players have tried to slow down the two-time MVP. This time, something unusual happened during the recent game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Entering the final 4 seconds of the game, Nikola Jokic was about to shoot only his 4th free throw of the game. NBA fans noticed a deep long gash on the right arm of the Nuggets superstar. The gash led to blood stains all over the right side of his jersey. Although the Nuggets staff attended to the gash, it did not stop the bleeding. Fans were bewildered as to what could have caused such a nasty cut. NBA players are not allowed to keep any length in their nails.

It seems the gash was not a deterrent for the reigning NBA Finals MVP. He finished the game with 31 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. This outing made Jokic the all-time leader in rebounds for the Nuggets. He was helped in the game by fellow superstar Jamal Murray who chipped in 32 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists.

The Brooklyn Nets lost the game 117-122 to the Nuggets. The Nets were led by Cam Thomas who put up 23 points and 2 assists. Despite having 7 players in double figures, the Nets could not overcome the defending NBA Champions.

Fans did not appreciate how the Nikola Jokic injury happened

NBA fans usually do not mind the odd scuffle or aggressive play during closely contested games. Blood has been shed before on the court. However, the fact that players are not allowed to have long nails, as well as the nature of Jokic’s injury meant that fans were concerned.
