Philadelphia 76er guard Patrick Beverley is one of the many players in the NBA famous for having a podcast. Discussing what is currently going on in the NBA, Beverley shared some interesting takes on his previous team, the LA Lakers, during a recent episode of The Pat Bev podcast with Rone.
Beverley was talking about topics such as the 65-game rule and the all-star starters on the live stream of the podcast. After being asked about what he enjoys more, being part of the Lakers team or watching it from afar, Beverley said,
When I left, they blamed me; they blamed Russ. We're on some of the best teams in the NBA.
Beverley’s team, The Philadelphia 76ers, is currently the 5th best team in the Eastern Conference. Russell Westbrook‘s Los Angeles Clippers is the 3rd best team in the Western Conference, while the Lakers are down at 9th in the Western Conference.
In December, the Lakers won the first-ever NBA In-season tournament. But they have had a poor regular season ever since. They have only won 8 of their 17 games the cup tournament victory.
Russell Westbrook reaches the milestone of 25,000 career points
During The LA Clippers vs. Detroit Pistons game on February 2nd, with 23 points, Westbrook became the 25th player in NBA history to reach 25,000 points. He is the only player after Lebron James to have scored 25,00 points with at least 8,000 rebounds and 9,000 assists. Westbrook’s achievement was celebrated in the locker room by his teammates. Of course, he was also regularly trolled by the fans, and often criticized for the team’s downfall.
During his sideline interview, Westbrook thanked God for allowing him to play the game he loves. And that he doesn’t take any day or night for granted. After the game, Westbrook reacted to the accomplishment on Instagram by saying,
God is able! So why not??? I might not be perfect, but God is! I might not be able, but God is! And I'm with Him! So why not dream? WHYNOT?
Westbrook also holds the record for the most career triple-doubles in NBA history, with 198. He was the MVP during the 2016-17 season and is a 9-time All-star. Needless to say, Westbrook has done enough to command the respect he now seems to be getting.
