Patrick Beverley was at the backstage of what was an dramatic night for Phoenix in Arizona, as the army of Mavericks brought them to their knees. The pillars of Phoenix, Chris Paul and Devin Booker could do nothing but watch as Luka Doncic engulfed the court with his fiery display, making the ‘sun’ set over their championship hopes. Dallas Mavericks lived up to their name, going berserk in the first half itself, entering haftime with a 30 point-lead which earned them a 123-90 knockout victory on Sunday night.
It’s the second straight year the Suns have lost a playoff series after having a 2-0 lead. They won the first two games against the Bucks in the NBA Finals last season before losing four straight games. Mavericks buried the game before halftime, Doncic had the hoop set in his crosshairs, that helped Dallas push to a 27-17 advantage in the first quarter and a whopping 57-27 cushion at the halftime break.
Phoenix’s All-Star backcourt of Paul and Devin Booker was rocked to the core and couldn’t recover at all , Booker finished with a measly 11 points and shot 3 of 14 while Paul had 10 points and four assists. The Suns shot just 37.9% from the field as Cam Johnson led all Suns scorers with 12 points off of the bench.

If you couldn’t already tell after last year’s Western Conference Finals when Beverley shoved CP3, you should be able to tell even more tonight that Patrick is not a big CP3 fan. Pat Bev sent out a tweet the Suns with a prediction that one of their key players might feign an injury to lessen the blame against the Mavericks.
Not only did fans call out Chris Paul for faking his injury to get past the humiliation. But handful of fans even went onto cuss the Point God by burning his jersey right outside the stadium. Perhaps being 0-7 in Game 7 tallies in his career, CP3 has surely left basketball fans in Phoenix utterly frustrated with himself.
“Yal remains locked in, let’s see who pulls down the fake injured train,” said Patrick Beverley, with the Suns facing an unassailable lead in Game 7.” Beverley said prior to Game 7.
After the Suns were absolutely stunned by the Mavericks, a report emerged stating that Chris Paul left the arena with a limp and a quad injury and refused to comment on it, when inquired.
When the news reached Patrick Beverley, the veteran believed it was a bluff by Chris Paul who couldn’t handle the whopping the Mavericks gave to them. Chris Paul had an dismal series against the Dallas after the Suns went up 2-0. He only averaged 9.4 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 5.8 APG. In an elimination Game 7 at home, Chris Paul failed to show up at the big stage, when it mattered the most and has become a topic for the fans to joke about. Chris Paul is perhaps the finest court general of this generation, and certainly the unluckiest, too, when it comes to injuries. The vetran is towards the rear end of his NBA career at the age of 37, and is very prone to injuries at this point in the season. It’s never okay to clown someone for potentially being hurt. But Patrick Beverley likely thinks that it could just be an act to draw some empathy after an horrendous performance. What the reality is will never be known, as CP3 hunt for a ring continues.
