Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets are the #1 seed in the NBA, but Paul Pierce feels the Warriors would beat them in a first-round matchup as the 8th seed. “If the Denver Nuggets see the Lakers if they see Golden State, they gon’ get popped in the first round, ” said Paul Pierce and tweeted via Showtime Basketball. The Nuggets, however, are unbeaten against the Golden State Warriors this season.

Paul Pierce is, however, correct to assume this, considering Golden State’s playoff record. the Warriors have made the finals every year they have, made the playoffs since 2015. Stephen Curry is the leader of a group of players who are incredibly hard to beat at home. The Golden State Warriors beat the Denver Nuggets in the first round in 5 games last season.

The Denver Nuggets have had some surprise losses this season but have kept the grip of the first seed since they got it. The Golden State Warriors won a stretch of 5 home games and lost three away games in a row on either side of that stretch. These away and road inconsistencies have ruined their seeding this season. The Warriors are the 6th seed, but a stretch of road games could quickly put them in the play-ins. Golden State Warriors can be in the playoffs, but if they stay, they will be in a competition they have never made it out of.
