“He’s been HORRIBLE” Kendrick Perkins blasts ‘over-enthusiastic’ Patrick Beverley after being impact-less for the Lakers in debut

Patrick Beverley

Patrick Beverley was one of the biggest additions to the Los Angeles Lakers squad during the off-season. The franchise had a terrible time trying to piece together a winning roster that would be consistent. Considering the amount of offensive power, the front office tried to work on the defensive aspect of their roster completing the recipe with PatBev.

Renowned NBA athlete and current analyst on ESPN, Kendrick Perkins lashed out at how the Lakers’ season opener turned out to be. He took to Twitter saying, “I hope Pat Bev give himself a lot of criticism on his next episode of his podcast because he’s been HORRIBLE tonight in his Lakers debut. Don’t mind me tho and carry the hell on…”

The Lakers barely got through during the preseason and many brushed it off as their “trial” period. They had many additions to the group besides Patrick Beverley. Not the mentioned a whole new coaching faculty that is trying to redefine the team according to each player’s strengths and weaknesses.

The Lakers opened against the defending champions Golden State Warriors. Things were certainly on pace with a good amount of offense being contributed by both LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The power forward finished with 27 points and 6 rebounds looking fairly decent in the post. Obviously, Davis’ reliability was a massive question mark considering the plethora of injuries he faced over the last two years.

LeBron once again had an incredible performance scoring the ball at a high level. He finished with 31 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 assists during the game inching his way closer to the all-time scoring record. Russell Westbrook also seems to have found a balance between offense and playmaking finishing with an impressive 19 points and 10 rebounds in 31 minutes.

Once again their biggest issue was staying in control of the ball and turning it over 21 times. The core group themselves contributed a disappointing 12 turnovers together. Patrick Beverley had a couple of great defensive plays and even stole the ball to assist LeBron’s slam. However, 3 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds are not what they require from him but more.
