“I am HEARTBROKEN today” Ray Allen goes off on a legendary rant on Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade

The NBA world is fighting for their dear sisters across the entire nation and several others around the world. The recent decision made by the United States jurisdiction to overturn the Roe v. Wade case left women across nation is distress. The decision would now make states to ban abortion as the court claimed the act is unconstitutional.

Barack Obama, the former president was gutted by the decision. He said, “Today, the supreme court not only reversed nearly 50 years of precedent, it relegated the most intensely personal decision someone can make to the whims of politicians and ideologues attacking the essential freedoms of millions of Americans.” His wife, Michelle Obama has given a lengthy statement as she is firm believer in women’s rights.

I am heartbroken today. I am heartbroken for people around this country who just lost the fundamental right to make informed decisions about their own bodies. I am heartbroken that we may now be destined to learn the painful lessons of a time before Roe was made law of the land, a time when women risked losing their lives getting illegal abortions. A time when the government denied women control over their reproductive functions, forced them to move forward with pregnancies they didn’t want, and then abandon them once their babies were born.”

The statement further read, “That is what our mothers and grandmothers and great-grandmothers lived through, and now here we are again. So, yes, I am heartbroken for the teenage girl, full of zest and promise, who won’t be able to finish school or live the life she wants because her state controls her reproductive decisions, for the mother of a nonviable pregnancy who is now forced to bring that pregnancy to term, for the parents watching their child’s future evaporate before their very eyes, for the health care workers who can no longer help them without risking jail time.”

Several NBA players had reacted with anger toward the decision made. Legendary shooter Ray Allen also broke silence over the matter on Instagram saying, “Yes I am heartbroken too! I just don’t understand why a group of people will say that they don’t want bigger government but then want a law passed that gives the government the ability to tell a woman what she can do with her own body.”

That very same group fought against healthcare for everyone. So, you care about the fetus in the womb but once it’s born-no f**ks are given! We have now crossed a threshold in this country where guns are more protected than a woman’s right are. If you don’t like abortions, don’t get one! We are going backwards y’all!” The Miami Heat superstar has all the rights to voice his opinion over the injustice caused. His words could not be any truer than it is for the common citizen to beware of their decisions.
