James Harden and Russell Westbrook have been teammates on three different teams. Now suiting up for the Los Angeles Clippers, the duo had a play reminiscent of their time together in Houston.
Four minutes into the second half, Harden drove to the basket and found Westbrook cutting in from the corner. Harden lobbed the ball toward a leaping Westbrook who finished the play with an alley-oop dunk. This play reminded fans of the several such plays between the two superstars during their time with the Houston Rockets.
During the Rockets days, James Harden and Westbrook were already league MVPs and playing in their prime. Now, a few teams later and Westbrook having assumed a bench role, it was still great for the fans to watch the two ball out.
The game between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Golden State Warriors was not even close at the start of the 2nd quarter. The Clippers were carried by a team-leading 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 15 assists from James Harden. Kawhi Leonard added 27 points and 8 rebounds. Russell Westbrook, embracing his second-unit role, added 9 points and 4 rebounds within 19 minutes of play.
With key players Paul George and Draymond Green out for their respective sides, bench players were tasked to fill their void. However, the usual starters got the job done for the Clippers.
