“Not learning their lesson” Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Nunn to start as LA Lakers starters in 2022-23 season
Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Nunn
The Los Angeles Lakers are back in the headlines as again just like the last year they have got all the talent on their roster but are still confused with the starting line-up. Last season the team was terrible and wasn’t even able to reach to the play-in tournament. The Lakers were also not able to decide their starting line-up last season as injuries always ruined them and their true potential never came out. And, the story again looks like something along the same lines.
Russell Westbrook’s future with the Lakers is still uncertain and it’s already very shocking that he has made it so far with the team. And, thanks to the mega contract worth $47 million and more he has under his name which has kept his time with the Lakers alive. No one knows what Kendrick Nunn is up to or even if he is fully recovered and ready to return as a professional. But still, both the above mentioned guards have made it to the rumors around the starting line-up.
According to Zach Lowe, both Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Nunn are going to start games for the Lakers. As in his recent interview with ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne on his podcast, “The Lowe Post” discussing the Lakers he quoted: “So, based on what I’ve heard, my prediction for what will be the starting five, not what should, but what will, is Russ, Nunn, and the Nunn buzz…”
Further, Zach Lowe added: “There’s a lot of Kendrick Nunn talk, among 25 people who care about it…Russ, Nunn, LeBron, A.D. and I think Damien Jones is right now the frontrunner to start at center, and I am as big a Damian Jones fan as exists in the NBA media…” The analyst was also critical for the Lakers as according to him that back court won’t be that great as their overall roster lacks a lot of skills like shooting and playing defense.
The Lakers starting line-up is going to be a mystery till the season starts and Darvin Ham announces one. But the one given by Zach Lowe isn’t that bad but some names can change in it. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are the sure names which remain. Except for those two, the Lakers can plan to start Thomas Bryant and Austin Reaves then they have a spot for either Russell Westbrook or Kendrick Nunn but for that to happen they’ll need everyone on the floor to shoot better and stay healthy.

Can the Los Angeles Lakers win it all this year?
The Los Angeles Lakers can really win it all this year and even rapper Lil Wayne believes the same. But for that to happen the team has to make some adjustments around their roster and bring in some great supporting cast. And, that’s exactly what they have been doing as they recently landed Patrick Beverley, Juan Toscano Anderson and still look to improve. Even though the future of Russell Westbrook isn’t clear yet he single-handedly can carry the team across with LeBron James.
The Lakers will also have to add some size and defense on the team as you can’t trust Anthony Davis who was last season tagged as Day to Day Davis. The Big Three of the team has the potential to win it all and get the job done. They just have to find a rhythm and be committed with some good chemistry at least. The signing of Darvin Ham as the new head coach will surely improve their defense but the road for them won’t be easy if they aren’t in the best shape and form possible, especially AD. As the western conference is no more soft and has the potential to give them an early exit again if they don’t go all in.
