“You won’t break my soul” Russell Westbrook Claps back at haters after securing his $47 Million paycheck with Lakers

Russell Westbrook has made it to the NBA headlines a place he never left since joining the Los Angeles Lakers last season. But this time a video clip of his is also all over the internet. As he is jamming out Beyonce’s “Break My Soul” in it and that too moments before picking up his player option with the Lakers. This move of his will land him $47 million worth of a bag no matter what and all those free agency rumors are now too shut downed. Not many expected Russell Westbrook to stay with the Lakers this long and even survive the Draft after the terrible season they had. But here is securing the bag and getting another chance with the franchise.

Russell Westbrook was scapegoated throughout the last season for the downs of the franchise and was also placed on the trade radar. But nothing like that ever became successful as his contract which now is worth of $47 million wasn’t entertained by many teams around. As last season he didn’t suit up like a former MVP and Mr. Triple Double but surely the game not revolving around him was a big reason behind it. He is also one of the Top-3 highest-paid stars in the league in the coming season. So trading him away won’t really be that easy for the already criticized and not that good front office of Lakers.

But the GM Rob Pelinka and Head Coach Darvin Ham now tilt towards Russell Westbrook being a part of the team and running it down. As they know how great of a player he is and it’s just some adjustments which have to be done. They have also told Brodie to focus more on his defensive end. As that’s what the new coach is known for and he already has thought about some systems and adjustments for Russell Westbrook to successfully run along with the team, unlike last season where he wasn’t really the guy he wanted to be. But again the Kyrie Irving rumors are very alive and nothing can be said or claimed.

Russell Westbrook knew many won’t be happy with him being back so he trolled them in the best way possible. Brodie was vibing in his car moments before the news was disclosed and he was also singing Beyonce’s “Break My Soul” a very relatable song for the situation he’s in. Many as expected are hurt with his decision of staying but there are also fans who love him and are happy watching him be here.
