“Russell Westbrook is a washed-up bricklayer” NBA Analyst believes Lakers’ only hope of qualifying to the playoffs is by trading Brodie away
Kevin O'Connor and Russell Westbrook
The Los Angeles Lakers start in the 2022-23 regular season has been nothing but abysmal. They have lost all the matches they have played until now. On the same note, one particular NBA analyst believes that trading Russell Westbrook is the only way to make it to the western conference playoffs, for the purple and gold.
NBA analyst Kevin O’Connor mentioned in a tweet by NBA retweet, quoted, “Russell Westbrook is a washed-up bricklayer who needs to be traded immediately for the Los Angeles Lakers to have any chance of saving their season.” Things aren’t going pretty well for the Lakers and Russell. It seems like he might be traded soon.
On the other hand, head coach Darvin Ham backed up his players when he was talking to the reporters after Sunday’s game, stating, “I don’t want any of my players to be hesitant taking shots. I don’t want to give them any type of complex. I want them confident in their ability to score from all over the floor.”
Darvin specially mentioned Westbrook and said, “His percentages haven’t been high. But Russ can make a 3-point shot. So it’s a matter of stepping up. If you’re gonna take it, you have to step up and make it. That’s pretty much it.”
Russell Westbrook’s terrible shooting form continues in the 2022-23 season
Things haven’t been easy for the Lakers player Russell Westbrook for some time. He is yet to step up and perform according to his caliber. The LA Lakers have lost all the matches they have played until now. Against Portland Trailblazers, they were leading till the end minutes, but a few mistakes cost them the game.
In the match, Westbrook finished with 10 points on 4/15 shooting from the field and 0-3 from the 3-point line. Russell was talking to reporters when he mentioned his performance against the Trailblazers. A video was tweeted by Spectrum SportsNet where he stated, “Not really sure what to do, but trying to do the best I can.”
Westbrook had the same set of answers for all the questions he asked. On the other hand, LeBron James and Anthony Davis have held themselves, but the two cannot be positioned everywhere, with Westbrook and Patrick Beverley struggling to shoot some 3-pointers. They lack help from the rest of the team.
