Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen are two of the greatest basketball players in Chicago Bulls’ history. The duo were unstoppable when they played together, complimented each other’s playing styles well and eventually went on to raise six championship banners in the United Center. Unfortunately, the relationship the two superstars once shared is no longer the same owing to Pippen’s one-sided feud with Jordan.

While everyone knows that Jordan was the better player out of the two in terms of all his skills and accomplishments, former NBA player and teammate of both Jordan and Pippen on the Bulls, John Salley, thinks Pippen was the most skilled player he had ever played with.

Four-time NBA Champion Salley recently made an appearance on Vlad TV where he shared his thoughts on multiple discussions such as Allen Iverson’s GOAT starting five, his own GOAT starting five and lastly on who would win in a 2-on-2 matchup between Kobe Bryant and LeBron James vs Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. He claimed that James and Bryant would win and said that Pippen was more skilled than all of them.

He also said that Jordan was not winning until Pippen joined the Bulls. There is some truth to that, with Jordan going 1-9 in the playoffs before the arrival of Pippen. Once the two got together, the Bulls never failed to get out of the first round of the playoffs and never lost in the NBA Finals. The legendary duo played a total of 619 games together, out of which they won 514 games.

Michael Jordan and Pippen’s relationship has soured over the years

The once-tight bond between Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen is no longer the same. It all started when Jordan’s documentary ‘The Last Dance’ was released on Netflix. Pippen wrote a memoir titled ‘Unguarded’ in 2021 which shed light on his relationship with Jordan. He was upset with how the series glorified and uplifted Jordan and did not give enough importance to Pippen and his teammates. He said Jordan deserved a large part of the blame as the producers had given him editorial access to the final product.

That was not all. Back in May this year, on Stacy King’s podcast, Pippen called Jordan a “horrible player,” saying, “He was a horrible player. He was horrible to play with. He was all 1-on-1, he’s shooting bad shots. And all of a sudden, we become a team and we start winning, everybody forgot who he was.”

To make matters worse, Pippen’s ex-wife is now dating Jordan’s son and the two have been in a steady relationship since September 2022.
