“Luka is not going anywhere anytime soon, Giannis is gonna be at the table” Shannon Sharpe details how slim LeBron James’ chances are to win MVP next season.

Shannon Sharpe and Lebron James
The Los Angeles Lakers, led by LeBron James, are coming off a disappointing season, but they will be looking to bounce back. Another MVP season for James would go a long way toward achieving this, but Shannon Sharpe believes the chances are slim. Sharpe quoted, “I give it a 3%. It’s gonna be difficult and it’s not because he won’t play well. Will they win enough games and you see the young guys just winning the MVP. Luka is not going anywhere anytime soon. Giannis is gonna be at the table for the foreseeable future.” Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo is coming off a strong season finish and is a favorite to win the MVP award next season. Shannon Sharpe lists Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo as two of the five legitimate MVP finalists.

Approaching his 20th NBA season.
Despite the fact that James’ possibilities of winning another MVP is limited, he has demonstrated his ability to play great basketball. LeBron James will have a chance to win the NBA MVP award if he maintains his form from the 2021-2022 season. For only the second time in his 19-year career, the Laker forward has been named to the All-NBA Third Team. LeBron sets a new NBA record by becoming the 18th player to be named to an All-NBA team in a row. James will have to play some of his finest basketball of his career if he wants to earn his first MVP award in a decade. In March, James made NBA history by surpassing Karl Malone for the 2nd spot in all-time regular-season points. In 2022-23, he’ll likely pass Lakers star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. LeBron James surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the all-time scoring chart, including playoffs, in February.

Regardless of the fact that the LA Lakers suffered a disastrous 2021-22 season, the league’s most renowned club and it’s superstar continues to dominate the airwaves. Given their 33-49 regular-season record, it’s difficult to argue that LeBron James is the main reason the Lakers are still relevant. The Lakers had to give up a lot of assets twice to get Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. Davis’ transfer in 2019 resulted in the championship in 2020. Westbrook’s acquisition a year ago failed. Davis has also failed to be a constant presence in the lineup as injuries continue to mount.
