NBA star player Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors made a genuine attempt to win back Brooklyn Nets star player Kevin Durant on their roster. It was rumored that Kevin was not happy with the Nets’ management. Hence the Warriors tried to acquire him back. But Kevin decided to stay back with the Nets. Recently, Shannon Sharpe talking about the situation in an episode of ‘Undisputed,’ pointed out how Steph likes to play with the youngsters rather than the veterans.

Shannon said, “Steph Curry knows Kevin Durant makes his job easier and it greatly increases their chance of winning. Steph Curry isn’t threatened by KD, he’s the more accomplished player.” He further added, “I can win without you KD; you have yet to show that you can win without me.” Shannon here was trying to point out that Steph doesn’t need any force to win because he himself is an one man army. Kevin has failed to win a title after parting ways with the Warriors; on the other hand, Steph led his team from the front for a championship win.

It is clear that Curry likes to play talent instead of banking on experience, and in the long run, when your ultimate aim is to win titles, talent plays a more significant part. Kevin Durant was one of the best players when he was with the GSW and provided Steph with a lot of support. Hence, it is clear why Curry wanted him back. Shannon also believed that Kevin and Curry’s warriors were a force to be reckoned. The analyst though knew that Steph is playing smart and is really not that interested in having KD back. As then he’ll have to give up the young talent the Dubs have built over the years and that’s not how Chef rolls. Even the franchise won’t risk their future at this stage when they have acquired a solid bench with players ready to become the next stars of the team.
