Jimmy Butler has proven to be one of the most efficient players at his position consistently putting up MVP caliber performances on a nightly basis. The player has not only excelled defensively on the Miami Heat as it is an attribute they heavily rely on to dominate over their opponent, but he has given his best numbers in scoring as well. This helps the team achieve a balance in their style of playing and makes them an instant threat.
The Heat secured the top spot in the Eastern Conference as they dominated their division for a good amount of time. On entering the post-season, their performances were close to effortless and it seems as though they are planning to take it further to another level. They are currently in the Eastern Conference Finals playing against the Boston Celtics.
Jimmy Butler helps steal Game 1 from Boston and says he wants to make people quit
During the division finals opener, Jimmy Butler had an exceptional game finishing with historic 41 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists along with 4 steals and 3 blocks. Both teams are two of the best on defense in the league but many have assumed that the Celtics have given up after a tough round two. It is simple, they were practically outplayed even though they themselves put up regular numbers.
Following the game, Butler may have splurged out comments that did not necessarily set right with the NBA audience. He said that he will keep running into everybody coming his way and see who quits first. If anything, the player might have said this out of pure confidence which is the mindset every player requires to have in order to win.

It seemed like no one perceived Jimmy Butler’s comments as he would have meant it. But sports analyst Shannon Sharpe was all for the attitude and came to the pro baller’s support. He said, “I don’t have a problem with it whatsoever. If you understand Jimmy Butler and you know his background, you know how he’s built. I really did feel that in my upbringing… if you know his story, you know the physicality and the toughness in which he’s talking about.”
Then he spoke on the Celtics saying, “I don’t believe the Celtics quit last night. I just believe they were ‘out-physicaled,’ they got beat by a better team last night. They played hard, the Heat played harder. They played some good basketball, the Heat played better. And last night, Jimmy Butler was the best player on the court on both ends… So, when you look at that, I don’t have a problem with what Jimmy is saying. He got a chip on his shoulder.”
