“Get rid of him NOW” Shannon Sharpe provides simple solution for Lakers after Russell Westbrook’s 5-Point performance
Shannon Sharpe and Russell Westbrook
NBA and Los Angeles Lakers deserted player Russell Westbrook seems to be in no mood to get along with his team. In a recent viral video on Twitter, Russell kept himself away from the team hurdle. NBA analyst Shannon Sharpe was quick to re-tweet the video and seemed to have not liked the behavior of the Lakers player.
In the recent video, Westbrook decided to stay away when the players gathered in the hurdle. Russell has different thoughts on the video and quickly commented, “Pregame, I’ve been doing that since I’ve been in the league for years, man. I think they just cut the video and obviously, the internet is going to take it and run with whatever they need to run with. But, I’ve been doing the same ritual since I’ve been in the league.”
Shannon Sharpe is quite unhappy with the fact that the LA Lakers front office has not been able to get rid of Russell. Earlier, Sharpe had mentioned that Westbrook’s offensive tendencies are unchanged, and therefore the Lakers guard can’t prosper in their system. The video of his came as a surprise to everyone, even Shannon. Hence, when he re-tweeted the video, he captioned, “Lakers just need to move on. It’s really that simple.” Well, one can say it’s just the matter of perspective.
Russell Westbrook claims he never gave up on the Los Angeles Lakers team
Despite an unsuccessful campaign, Russell Westbrook opted to continue the final year of his contract with the Lakers. On the other hand, Head coach Darvin Ham has assured to get more out of the former league MVP in the upcoming season. While Westbrook expressed dismay with how fans mocked his family name last season, the veteran said Thursday that the mocking he faces as a member of the Lakers doesn’t differ from the spotlight he has been under since entering the NBA.
Russell quoted, “That’s been the same for me, honestly, man, through my career, I’m very used to it. And I’m very accustomed to it. That’s why I’ve just been blessed and thankful to be able to continue to play each year and keep my head down and continue competing. And whatever comes with the extra stuff comes with it. It’s not up to me to be able to make videos and things for the internet. I just go out and do my job.”
