“People’s Champ” Shaquille O’Neal donated his earnings from DJ appearance to a shooting victim’s family in Buffalo

Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most generous public figures out there at the moment. There have been several stories about the Big Diesel winning the hearts of people around him with his kindness. He has always been there to mentor the young ballers and has looked out for them like a big brother. He is very well known for his caring, funny and uplifting personality.

Besides having a very successful life outside of his long gone basketball career, he was arguably the greatest and most dominant centers of all time. Drafted number one overall in 1992, he became the rookie of the year and eventually led the Los Angeles Lakers to a championship 2000. Through the 1999-2000 season, he was crowned the league, all-star game and finals MVP while winning a scoring title and his first chip alongside Kobe Bryant.

Shaquille O’Neal aka DJ Diesel donates $50,000 to victim’s family of the Buffalo shooting

In May, the city of Buffalo witnessed a tragic shooting that took the lives of 10 individuals. The shooting was termed as a racially induced hate crime. Shaquille O’Neal, who also DJs part-time was schedule to play a show on May 14. Although he was reluctant to go ahead with the show at first, TMZ said that he understood how much it would mean to the city and went ahead with his performance.
“DJ Diesel has been making his rounds on tour… and was naturally reticent about continuing on with his scheduled show in Buffalo in the aftermath of the mass shooting that took place last month. But, the Hall of Famer and 4x-NBA Champ decided to still do the show… knowing how much the event meant to those who attended,” sources revealed to TMZ. Shaq had donated the show’s proceeds to the widowed wife and son of Aaron Salter Jr., a deceased police man. TMZ claims that O’Neal donated $50,000 to them.
