“3 years ago, Shaq’s theater showed that documentary” Shaquille O’Neal gets called out for blatant HYPOCRISY against Kyrie Irving for supporting controversial movie

Kyrie Irving and Shaquille O'Neal
Shaquille O’Neal has been a very prominent figure in the world of sports. Being in the position that he is, the NBA legend tries his absolute best not to get involved in controversial happenings that could soil his reputation. In light of the recent events that took place around Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving, he had a lot of words to put out.
Shaquille O’Neal went to the extreme of calling the former NBA champion an “idiot” during an episode of NBA on TNT. He said, “The game we used to love and we promote, it brings people together. And it hurts me sometimes when we have to sit up here to talk about stuff that divides the game. Now we got answer for what this idiot has done.”
Recently, a Twitter user pointed out that Shaq actually promoted the same movie that Kai had posted about on his social media. The tweet said, “Wait a minute, 3 years ago Shaq’s theater showed that documentary that Kyrie posted LOL!” In one of the tweet’s threads, an individual posted an image that contained all facts related to the “accusation” which also had proof of the movie being aired at his theater.
Shaquille O’Neal bought CityPlex 12 in Newark, New Jersey back in 2012. The picture in the thread had a YouTube titled: “HEBREWS TO NEGROES 2: REVELATION NEWARK PREMIER!” The video which was uploaded in 2019 featured a man who promoted the movie and also mentioned its screening taking place at the same theater Shaq owned. The initial minutes of the 28- minute video had him advertise the movie’s first screening at the Newark theater.
Shaquille O’Neal’s wishes were granted after the Nets suspend Kyrie Irving

Shaquille O’Neal’s alleged screening was of the sequel of the actual movie Kyrie Irving had promoted. During the same episode of NBA on TNT, Shaq was infuriated that the league barely acted on this controversy and slammed the NBA for not suspending Irving for supporting the movie. Ultimately, the Nets decided to suspend him for five games with the possibility of being extended more than that.
This was done solely due to the fact that Irving did not issue a proper and personal apology to the ones affected and the communities that were involved. As a result, Nike suspended their deal with the player as well. Irving was to donate $500,000 to the Anti-Defamation League but they refused to accept the gesture as the baller had not made an apology personally.
According to NBA Insider Sham Charania, the Nets have given six things Kai to do which is to apologize and condemn the movie, pay $500,000 to anti-hate causes, go through sensitivity and antisemitic training and meet with ADL and Jewish leaders and later, Joe Tsai to demonstrate his understanding.
