$400,000,000 worth Shaquille O’Neal once eccentrically offered $300,000 to ex-wife Shaunie O’Neal to ‘stay home’ only to realize his mistake years later

Shaquille O’Neal over the years has become a completely changed man. But the one thing he hasn’t changed is giving back to others and taking care of his loved ones. Now though he’s more wise and knows his limits. But back in the day while just trying to take care of his ex-wife Shaunie O’Neal he made her an sexist offer.

Shaquille O’Neal treated the female family members in a very special way. But now he has realized how some of those moments were a mistake. And, especially, with his ex-wife Shaunie O’Neal it was a big mistake. He made a big money offer to his then-wife for not working and staying at home.

But now Shaquille O’Neal knows that was a wrong decision and he should have let her wife be out there in the world and work. Years later, reflecting on that moment during a session on his podcast, “The Big Podcast with Shaq” he regretted his mistake.

Shaq said: “You have to let a woman be a woman because I’m a king because of how my mother worked… I only want her to do one thing, stay fine. I was the type, ‘you don’t need to work, whatever you need I’ll give it to you’ because I’m like the King of England mentally. I know now, it is a mistake. I’m so big on my people. If I can protect you by keeping you in a house, stay in house. What you working for how much you make in a year? 100,000? Here’s 300,000.”

Shaq probably failed to understand that cutting someone off isn’t protecting him. It was really a big mistake as Shaunie has turned out to be an amazing entrepreneur. She’s now a big media personality, producer of a successful show, and runs several business ventures. But unfortunately, she divorced Shaquille O’Neal in 2011.

Why did Shaunie O’Neal divorce Shaquille O’Neal?

Shaunie last year got married to Keion Henderson after a decade of leaving Shaquille O’Neal. She and Shaq have four kids together and it was all going well for the couple. But unfortunately, it all went south in 2007 when issues started rising in their marriage. They even filed for a divorce which was finalized in 2011. The reason was Shaquille O’Neal being a serial cheater as he had relations with many women out there.

Shaquille O’Neal still regrets that phase of his life. He has even admitted to being at fault in that relationship on multiple occasions be it interviews or his podcast.

They still are co-parenting their kids. But nothing can be changed now and Shaq looks ahead for a better time while he continues to protect, provide and love the people around him.
