In recent games, Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis has shown the world why he is rated as the number 1 in the league. Hence, former NBA player Shaquille O’Neal thinks he should continue with his beast mode even after legend LeBron James returns to the line-up. Anthony has playing his best and has helped the LA Lakers won three consecutive games.

Shaquille O’Neal was talking on ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq’ where he quoted, “LeBron, he handles the ball a lot. Of course, when he’s not there, everybody’s gonna touch it, everybody’s gonna [touch] it and AD becomes the No. 1 source, the No. 1 go-to-guy. We’ve been saying for the last two years he should be the No. 1 go-to guy, anyway.”

Shaq added, “LeBron is gonna be LeBron but AD should demand the ball, take high-percentage shots and not always take a backseat to LeBron. LeBron is not there, he’s the guy. He’s asking the ball, he’s getting the ball, he’s taking high-percentage shots and his numbers are showing. The question is can he do that with LeBron in the game?”

The Los Angeles Lakers fell short to the Phoenix Suns 115-105, but their star Anthony Davis added a feather to his cap in the same game. He nailed 37 points, 21 rebounds, five steals and five blocks on 11-17 shooting from the field and 15-16 from the charity stripe. This run of Anthony put him alongside Shaquille O’Neal as the only two players in franchise history to put up four consecutive 30-point, 15-rebound efforts since the NBA merged into the ABA.

Shaq achieved this feat in the year 1999. In the ongoing season, Davis is averaging 26.4 points, 12.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists in the 15 games and he’s even been shooting at a career-best level over his 11-year NBA career. His transformation to the beast mode got the LA Lakers franchise some much-needed wins.

When LeBron returns to the game and if he gets his form back as soon as possible, there is no stopping for the Lakers. These two are the franchise pioneers and anyone will agree that the roster is built around them. Russell Westbrook has also accumulated to the new role he has been assigned. Hence the fans will hope that only optimistic things happen for the team. The Lakers will face the San Antonio Spurs next.
