“I’m not paying you sh*t” Shaquille O’Neal refused to pay $12 Million after planting child p*rn on ex-employee’s computer
Shaquille O’Neal is undoubtedly the most flamboyant big man known to the NBA fans. Having being caught in the public eye in the previous decades for cheating on his wife, the former LA Lakers’ marquee has kept his personal life a big-time secret. However, on one particular occasion, he found himself muddled in a lawsuit with an ex-employee for planting child p*rn in his computer.
While Shaquille O’Neal was already getting entangled with multiple problems between him and his ex-wife, the Hall of Famer big-man got dragged into quite the nasty lawsuit at the turn of the 2010s decade by an ex-employee of his, Shawn Darling. To those who are not aware who the latter personnel is, Shawn was Shaquille O’Neal’s IT consultant during his final days in Miami and his short stint with the Phoenix Suns.
Why did Shaquille O’Neal plant child p*rn in his employee’s computer?
Shaquille O’Neal allowed Shawn to set up various mail accounts to help keep in touch with various mistresses of his. That being said, the 50-year-old Hall of Famer would soon realize that he had given unprecedented access to another man to accounts that could ruin his reputation in the public eye, especially when he was going through a sensitive time. The important thing to know here is that, this is all according to Darlin’s defense.
On the other hand, O’Neal’s defenses alleged that the IT consultant stole this information from him and planned to extort him for $12 million, a fee Shaq refused to pay. This led to the Los Angeles Lakers legend working with a law firm to sue Darling for possession of child p*rn on his computer.
To talk about the contrary accusation from both the parties, the accusers claimed that Shaquille O’Neal had threatened Shawn and even tried to silence him all while trying to frame him for the possession of child p*rn. On the contrary, Shaq’s lawyer claimed that Darling put himself in a position to be able to steal sensitive information from his client and then asked for $12 Million to have the information been given back to him at all costs and means necessary.
