Shareef O’Neal is back in the NBA headlines and the reason is the Lakers’ new backcourt duo of Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley. Everybody for some or the other reason is hating on them and many even believe the new duo to be senseless. As Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook have been beefing for a decade now but being on the same team they are trying their best to build a bridge and millions are hating on them for it. Shareef O’Neal though is a real one for the Lakers as he came out to defend their new backcourt duo.
The Los Angeles Lakers recently landed Patrick Beverley in a blockbuster trade. Believe it or not, it’s a great addition, especially under the system of new head coach Darvin Ham. Many analysts and fans around the league aren’t understanding the advantages of this addition but Shareef O’Neal has his mind pretty clear. And, Shareef O’Neal being a real hooper knows professionalism, especially in the league edges over whatever beef one has. As his recent tweet is loud enough to shut down all those senseless haters for the duo of Russell Westbrook and the biggest trash-talker in the league.
The Los Angeles Lakers last year had a terrible season and didn’t even reach the play-in tournament. They lacked defense and had zero chemistry with Day to Day Davis always being out of form and unhealthy. Patrick Beverley’s addition can fix a lot of things here. He knows how to carry a team to the postseason, play defense and also run the team as a unit. So Shareef O’Neal is not wrong for trusting the duo to be great.
Shareef O’Neal recently in a tweet of his defending Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook wrote: “I feel like people want Pat and Russ to beef so bad lol!! Let them be great and hoop together.” The young gun said out what most are afraid to do and called out all the hating mouths and now it’s time for the duo to do the same by coming out with a good rhythm and the best possible form and shape.

The duo of Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley can really be great and live up to the expectations of Shareef O’Neal. As both the guards out there can take over the whole game in just some minutes. As they really have the potential to do so. One can do the running, scoring and playmaking. While the other can get under the nerves of the rivals and play some lockdown defense. So doubting such an energetic duo is senseless and they may shock the world soon. But for that to happen they’ll have to be on the same page and that’s exactly what they are working on right now.
