“They seem to be enjoying basketball” Skip Bayless credits Ben Simmons’ passing for Brooklyn Nets
Ben Simmons has been the biggest star of the preseason as all eyes are focused on the Brooklyn Nets and their long awaited debut with the star. All signs of hope have been positive lately as the Aussie baller has starting to settle into the new environment.
The former All-Star had a very bad return game with the Nets during the first preseason game. He was barely able to find his consistent defensive ability and failed at facilitating the ball. But as expected, it was his first game back in over a year. Skip Bayless took a moment to appreciate his most recent appearance in the preseason.
Ben Simmons was exceptional making plays for the team in their win against the Milwaukee Bucks last night. The analyst tweeted saying, “Thanks to Ben Simmons’ contagious passing, the Nets actually appear to be enjoying SHARING THE BASKETBALL. Glory be. Maybe there’s hope.”

Ben Simmons shows massive potential but still needs practice
The Nets lacked everything Ben Simmons had to offer during the previous season. The team showed signs of promise in the play-in tournament but their lack of defensive depth showed tremendously during the first round of the playoffs. They were swept by the Boston Celtics, and in an embarrassing way.
Simmons was expected to return during the series but pulled out after injuring his back. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant both struggled to read the Celtics defenses but failed miserably on offense without “protection” they needed. Now that the Aussie star is back, they have an extra threat who is defensively sound and has the ability to attack the rim.
However, Simmons still needs to fix his ability to convert shots as it will simply benefit the team when their main scorers are held back. Last night, he recorded 7 points, 8 rebounds, and 10 assists in 28 minutes of playing time. The Nets are still headed in a good direction regardless but will need to fix holes in their game.
