“This is better than WWE. It’s now SideShowtime”: Skip Bayless mocks Lakers for adding Patrick Beverley alongside Russell Westbrook
Sports Analyst, Skip Bayless was in the news recently for his tweet questioning Los Angeles Lakers’ decision to add someone like Patrick Beverley along with Russell Westbrook. Skip thinks that Patrick is a player known for his ability to trash talk and build the game around it and is also very passionate about the game and has a rivalry with Russell Westbrook. Hence, having two rival players on the same team can be a headache for the Lakers’ management as the two players have been involved in many heated arguments for almost a decade now.
Seeing their beef up in recent times, Skip made a mocking tweet as soon as the deal was finalized. He stated, “PatBev to the Lakers? The bad blood between him and Westbrook dates back a decade. And now he’ll take some of Westbrook’s minutes? This is better than WWE. It’s now “SideShowtime.”
The Lakers seemed to have acquired the services of Patrick to make their defense look strong compared to the last season. They have suffered by only depending on their crucial defense player ‘Anthony Davis’ as he has now and then been kept out of the game due to injuries. Therefore, Beverly can be considered a valuable addition to the team, but they will have to find some way to keep the duo of Westbrook and Beverley on the same page.
Can the duo of Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley align together to take LA Lakers to a championship win?
Despite knowing the history of rivalry between Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook, the Lakers decided to trade in Patrick for the team’s betterment and make their defense stronger. But only time will tell whether both the players can forget their past and combine for a title win. Both the players have grown mature over time, and this partnership should be made to take the team home. The management should step up and try and bring the players on the same page so that the LA Lakers’ locker room doesn’t turn into a WWE bout.
