“He’s presenting himself as the sheriff of this town” Skip Bayless reacts as Darvin Ham proposes plans for Lakers’ upcoming season
Darvin Ham has been extremely vocal about his plans with the Los Angeles Lakers ever since taking up the role of Head Coach. Many believe that it may not be as easy as he thinks it is to coach a whole group of veterans who are ball dominant. But the confidence is all that matter this point as their previous coach Frank Vogel had zero direction.
The Lakers had a very underwhelming season despite being title contenders initially. The biggest issue on the roster was not Russell Westbrook but a lack of proper direction and delegation for work on the court. But what drove the dagger deeper was Anthony Davis‘ absence.
Darvin Ham warns Los Angales Lakers players of his plans
Having players such as LeBron James, who is used to be the top gun on the court being benched for disobedience is quite unusual to hear. Darvin Ham thinks otherwise, he has expressed several times that he will not hesitate to bench players who are not performing upto his standards. He shows that he is head first into making the franchise the face of the NBA once again.
Ham has also warned his players that he does not wish to work with “second guessers” and wants everybody to be all in for the upcoming season. The Big 3 experienced hiccups during the initial weeks of the off-season. But according to league sources, they have come to an agreement to make it work over the 2022-23 Season.
Skip Bayless reacts to Darvin Ham’s rules imposed on Lakers
Skip Bayless has never missed a moment to troll the Lakers franchise of their shortcomings. LeBron and Russ are usually his targets but the legendary analyst turned his attention towards the head coach. His views of Darvin Ham’s confidence in handling the Lakers are somewhat valid considering the nature of the main stars on the roster.
He said, “He is presenting himself as the sheriff of this town. I don’t think he gets what is about to hit him right between the eyes. LeBron is LeBron. He has earned the right to be a diva. He’s still the face of the franchise and the face of the league. And AD is a multiple time All-Star, and he’s gonna play in his own world. And now you gotta deal with a Russ.”
