Skip Bayless unable to understand how Lakers are 13th seed in WC whilst LeBron James bring on all-time spectacular offensive roll
LeBron James
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers had one of the toughest nights of the season against the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day. Playing in his 17th consecutive Christmas Day game, James and Co. were defeated by the Mavs led by Luka Doncic. The Mavericks scored 51 points in the 3rd quarter against the Lakers, the most by any team in the season. James scored 38 points in the loss, one point shy from his season high.
In a conversation with Shannon Sharpe on Undisputed, Skip Bayless said he has no idea how the Lakers are tanking, despite LeBron yet again having a historic season. According to Skip, it is surprising that the Lakers are in the 13th spot in the conference despite James balling out. “I find this mind-boggling that LeBron’s Los Angeles Lakers have plummeted to 13th in the West, considering the fact he has been on an all-time spectacular offensive roll,” Bayless said.
Bayless knows that his comments are all in good faith and he was not being sarcastic at all against the 4 x NBA Champion. “I’m not exaggerating this a bit I’m not being sarcastic 1 ounce he has been spectacular on offense,” said Skip. As a matter of fact, LeBron has been on roll so far this season. He has been averaging 27.8 points this season, at the age where he is only 3 days shy of being 38. If that is not enough, the former MVP has averaged 32.1 points, 7.1 assists, and 6.0 rebounds in his last 8 games.

Can the Lakers bounce back into the season behind LeBron James?
If you ask any NBA analyst or executive the same question, the answer from perhaps all would be a clear-cut No. The distrust in the Lakers making any comeback in the season is hard and more or so impossible because of the absence of Anthony Davis. Davis injured his foot during a game against the Denver Nuggets a few weeks ago. He is expected to miss at least a month with the injury. Several NBA insiders also believe that Davis could be out for more than a month.
Another biggest reason that the Lakers would not be able to make a comeback in the season is the absence of a superstar behind James. Apart from Bron, none of the players on the Lakers’ roster are balling out every time they step on the floor. A kind of player Darvin Ham needs when James is not on the floor and resting is missing. Davis was not only a good scorer but also one of the best defenders in the league and his absence has created a void that no one can fill.
In his last 8 games, Davis was averaging 29.9 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game for the Lakers. So, until Anthony Davis makes a return to the team, there is hardly a chance that they would be able to get into a position where they can make the playoff. After their loss against the Mavs, LeBron also told the media that it is very difficult to win games without Davis.
