“It’s time for him to back it up with a NBA Finals MVP” Skip Bayless urges Stephen Curry to add ‘Biggest Milestone’ in his resume approaching NBA Finals
Skip Bayless and Stephen Curry
Stephen Curry and his Golden State Warriors have finally booked their seat in the NBA Finals after couple of years of agitation and wait. With all of Dubs’ big 3 marquee players re-uniting on the court, Steve Kerr’s team has finally risen up to its full potential. Having beaten Dallas Mavericks in 5-game in the Western Conference Final series, it seems like they are once again favorites to win the silverware.
Stephen Curry went onto register himself as the Western Conference Finals MVP, and now sports media personality Skip Bayless has urged the 3-point King to finally register another accolade his way which perhaps has eluded him for far too long, especially knowing when Curry has been a part of 3 NBA Championship Warriors-team.
Can Stephen Curry lead Warriors to yet another NBA Championship?
Bayless stated, “Stephen Curry shot under 40% from 3 this season for the 1st time in his career (38). He shot only 33% from 3 vs Memphis. He was only 5-17 in tonight’s closeout game. Yet he just won the Magic Johnson trophy for conference finals MVP. It’s time for him to back it up with a Finals MVP.”
To those who are not aware, Stephen Curry scored 23.8 points, 7.4 assists and 6.6 rebounds per game, shooting on a 44/43/83 shooting split. The 8xAll-Star has dealt with a lack of form at times this season, but he has stepped up big-time for the Warriors in close games. The Dubs talisman ranks second in total points in the fourth quarter (113) during the playoffs, shooting on a 53/44/90 split. It is a testament to his ability to deliver for the team during crunch situations.
Given that the Golden State Warriors are entering the NBA Finals are clear-cut favorites, they would face a tough task in battling wither Miami Heat or Boston Celtics. Will Curry be able to inspire his young core and rest of Warriors team on the grandest stage? Remains to be seen.
