A recent X post has caused a stir amongst the fans as it reveals the stats of the Golden State Warriors with four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry being on top of the leaderboard for dropping points. The Warriors are heavily dependent on Steph Curry to lead from the front in the ongoing NBA regular season, with close to no support from either Klay Thompson or Draymond Green.

Consequently, the Warriors face a challenge whenever Stephen Curry is not playing. Further highlighting that the team is vulnerable from the offensive front. Moreover, Steph makes space for his teammates and disrupts the defense of the opponents. The style of play lacking from Klay and Green’s end. Both of these two are the team’s two main players. Having played key roles in the Warriors’ road to winning championships in the past, their slump in form is massive and has not gone unnoticed.

In the latest buzz, however, an X post has revealed a further morale-damaging stat for Klay, to say the very least. According to the post, Thompson trails Curry with 62 field goals. Yet, when one looks at the overall stats, Curry leads with 63 three-pointers this season, surpassing every other player on the team in 3-point makes. That is quite astonishing given the weight of the statement.

Additionally, Klay’s current averages of 13.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game mark a notable decline from his previous stats of 21.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. Similarly, Draymond Green is also facing a slump in form with averages of 8.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.6 assists.

This poses a considerable challenge for the Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr. Factors like injuries can also impact the team significantly, and Curry being out will notably influence the Warriors’ gameplay.

Stephen Curry’s injury timeline and expected return

The Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is said to have fallen on his knee in their matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves on the night of November 12th. The fall was severe which made the team put him on the sidelines to evaluate the extent of the injury. Steph Curry wasn’t seen playing the next two games due to soreness. To make sure of things, Curry underwent imaging which revealed that he had a strain in his right knee.

The timeline of recovery and his expected return is still on the grounds of speculation. Although it’s uncertain, there seems to be a positive note for the Warriors to see that as he was absent the next two games which includes the one against OKC, he was ruled out for the match more than 24 hours in advance. This may indicate that he is recovering well and the injury wasn’t a major one.

The Warriors announced through their Twitter account the findings of the MRI and assured that there wasn’t any damage to the knee. An update like that just after missing two games has already increased excitement among fans.
