Sabrina Ionescu made history this past Friday, exploding for 37 points in the final round of the 3-point contest, breaking the previous record set by Stephen Curry in 2021. She only missed two shots in the entire round and hit 20 consecutive shots between the two misses, leaving everyone watching in awe.
After winning the contest, Sabrina challenged Steph to a 3-point shootout. The Golden State Warriors guard replied to the challenge in a recent appearance on ESPN’s NBA Today, where he was asked about it. Steph replied that now that Sabrina has set the record, he has to go after it and settle the debate of who is the best shooter across the league.
“I have to go after Sabrina’s record, so I have something to shoot for now that she went off with the 37 points at All-Star Weekend,” Curry said Monday. “So I guess we have to settle that one for sure. Who’s the better 3-point competition shooter?”
Now, it will be interesting to see if this challenge actually becomes a reality, and we get the ultimate three-point shootout to determine the greatest 3-point shooter across both leagues.
Stephen Curry wins American Century Championship

Stephen Curry had an eventful weekend, winning his first-ever American Century Championship, a golf event held in Lake Tahoe. He became only the second active athlete to win the celebrity golf tournament, participating in it ten times previously without making it to the podium.
However, this time, he led for the majority of the tournament, except for the last shot. Curry came through in the clutch, securing victory and taking home the trophy. He even had an outstanding hole-in-one on Saturday, leaving spectators speechless.
Speaking about his triumph, Curry expressed that winning in front of such a crowd was a dream scenario for him. “I’ve always dreamt of a situation like this, on the 18th green, in front of a crowd like that, to make a putt,” said Curry. Additionally, he made history by becoming the first African American athlete to win this tournament.
