In the first NBA vs. WNBA three-point shootout at the All-Star Weekend, Stephen Curry defeated Sabrina Ionescu on Saturday. Curry’s 29 shots and Sabrina’s 26 shots purposefully won over everyone’s hearts due to the game’s clause stating that every basket will raise money for charity and benefit the less fortunate. However, Curry once unintentionally missed shots and the chance to raise money.
A child who loves basketball could only dream of being Stephen Curry. He is the ideal player that any young kid could ask for, with the obvious exception of his poor dunking skills. Everyone in the community is in thrall as a result of the most amazing shooter in game history. However, every shooter has bad days, even the greatest of all time. During the 2017 All-Star weekend, he experienced one such day.
Kyrie Irving and Eric Gordon faced off in the 2017 NBA three-point contest championship game. Following this, a full-fledged celebrity shootout tournament started. Curry was later offered the chance to raise $500,000 for Sagarstrongfoundation by making one half-court shot. In all his splendor, Chef Curry asked for three shots. However, after missing those three, he attempted six more times but was unable to complete a half-court shot.
Stephen Curry is one of the greatest players of this generation. He has never shied away from fundraising or charitable endeavors. With his and Sabrina’s outstanding performance in the three-point shooting competition, Steph and Sabrina will again amass such glory.

Steph had settled the argument about who was the best shooter. But that was the one time his wizardry failed to work. Curry’s constant pursuit of expanding his philanthropy is well known. Despite this, his supporters did not demonize or hate him. It was a half-court shot, which is quite uncommon, and it wasn’t deliberate.
After today’s win, the clip went viral of him missing those shots. Fans, although, had a very one-sided reaction. For reactions, scroll below:
During the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend in Indiana, one of the most anticipated events was the Stephen vs. Sabrina three-Point Challenge. Last year, Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors accepted Sabrina Ionescu of the New York Liberty’s challenge. After the latter broke the record for the three-point Contest with 37 points during the 2023 WNBA All-Star Weekend, Curry was challenged. Curry may have prevailed, but Sabrina deserves praise for mounting a strong challenge.
