“What the hell is wrong with you?” Stephen A. Smith believes Karl Anthony Towns is ‘only’ trying to ‘bring a lot of smoke’ by verbal banter

Karl Anthony-Towns and Stephen A Smith
On Friday night, ESPN’s sports analyst Stephen A. Smith explained why he wasn’t Wolves star center Karl Anthony Towns to focus more on his performance rather then using his mouth for trash-talking during the games.
During the initial games of the NBA regular season, the Minnesota Timberwolves were not the team that anyone has expectations of and they even performed like that. But as soon as the all-star games passed, we saw a different Wolves emerging in the west which was dominating the game with their star center Towns as the main pillar of the offense. With this new boost to their campaign, the Timberwolves’ hopes rise to make deep playoffs run this postseason.

Meanwhile, after the performance of the team has improved, the Wolves become arrogant and started a lot of trash talking to their opponents just like their notorious guard Patrick Beverly. Karl Anthony Town was not only leading the team in offense but also in mocking their opponents and its example was seen when the Lakers were at Minnesota for the regular-season game.

Stephen A. Smith calls out All-star center Karl Anthony Towns for his 8-PT Game 3 performance against the Grizzlies

The tables have now totally changed for the Timberwolves squad, after the victory in Game 1 the team looked loosened and started putting their effort more into trash-talking rather than performing, and as a result, they are now down to 1-2 in the series against the Grizzlies. While discussing the series between Wolves and Grizzlies on ESPN’s first take, Stephen A. Smith openly criticized the Wolves’ big man for his failure in this series.
Smith said, “You’ve listened to him be mic’d up, he talks a lot of smackdown, he talks a lot of smacks and he tries to act like he’s bringing a whole lot of smoke like I said it ain’t like he’s some quiet choir boy and we’re bothering him or we’re trying to impose our belief system on his shoulders. No, we get it from him he’s the one expressing and disseminating this message to all of us too because of how he wants us to look at him.”

Further discussing it Smith also explained that Karl Anthony Towns has lost his domination by referring to Game 3 where he scored only six points in the final three quarters and in the process of playing clean the Wolve star was seen struggling. The forward left the game early in the fourth quarter when 9:24 left as he completed his five fouls.

Smith explained how even Wolves Coach are not taking the right decision at right time, he said, “I think a lot of this is on carl Anthony towns I’m not saying it all is they got to play better, they got to play smarter coach finch, got to coach them smarter because they did look idiotic in the second half how a team go on a 21-0 run in the playoffs and don’t call one single timeout that’s just not intelligent.”
