“This win by Celtics is only justice for basketball” Stephen A. Smith reveals Brooklyn Nets will always be remembered as a ‘cautionary tale’

Brooklyn Nets were deemed to make the NBA Finals before the start of the 2021-22 season. However, inconsistent runs, stern decisions, loss of trust among other factors saw the team bow out of the postseason is demeaning manner. Being clean swept 4-0 by the Boston Celtics, only went onto show the voids of Nets and were elaborated upon by sports media analyst Stephen A. Smith.
Among the plethora of analyst and former players who lashed out on Brooklyn Nets are their humiliating exit, Stephen A. Smith was the latest to speak upon the same in his latest rant. However, it was different as Smith went onto find justice in Nets’ exit from the playoffs rather than blaming the entire burden on the shoulders of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

On Stephen A’s World, the host discussed what the Nets’ playoff exit meant for the league, “What we witnessed last night, what we witnessed with the Brooklyn Nets getting swept out of the playoffs was justice. Justice for basketball. Because the last thing the NBA needed was the Brooklyn Nets winning a championship this season.”
Moreover, Stephen A. Smith added any Brooklyn Nets’ success would have been a disaster for the NBA, “If that team had still gone out and won it all, every other team in the NBA would have had a license to do the same, to conduct themselves the same. License to completely ignore the regular season, to take any and every reason not to play basketball.
“After last night, after getting swept in the first round, sent packing on their home court, having to go through the play-in round, just for the honor of getting swept on their home court. This Brooklyn Nets team will forever be remembered as a cautionary tale.”

From Ben Simmons having no role to play and quite literally giving up on his team, to Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving being equipped with right set of players, it will be highly interesting to witness the changes Nets would make before the start of 2021-22 season. Starting from the very top of order, any change for Steve Nash? Remains to be seen.
