“The slightest of things happen to them, they are OUT” Stephen A. Smith savagely claims Miami Heat belong in Soap Opera rather than EC Finals
Stephen A. Smith on Miami Heat
PJ Tucker and Kyle Lowry seemed to be the ideal fits to fill all the voids of Miami Heat as they managed to secure the top spot in the Eastern Conference. After getting past Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers in the early playoff rounds, it seemed like Erik Spoelstra’s team has run out of gas as majority of its marquee scorers found themselves placed on the bench in different games for various injuries.
This resulted in sports media personality, Stephen A. Smith calling out Miami Heat in the most savage way possible. Heat have always found themselves being led by a sole-scorer, majority of times which is Jimmy Butler. Now after dropping to 3-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals, Boston Celtics are making mockery of Heat’s defensive lapses as majority of its stars are failing to deliver because injury concerns.
Can Miami Heat reach their 2nd NBA Finals in 3 years?
Stephen A is not having any of this and he’s taken Perkins’ criticism to another level by saying that these Heat players should try their hand on soap operas with all their drama.
“I just wanted to let y’all know that I made a call because of what Kendrick Perkins just alluded to,” Smith said. “As I told y’all before, some of these brothers, it don’t make any sense – some of them. I made a call to the executive producer of General Hospital, his name is Frank Valentini — exceptional producer, love the guy. I asked him, does he have a role for some of these players. I mean, the drama, the drama KP… I think these guys could do a great great job with some of these soap operas… The slightest thing, they out. They can’t go. It’s embarrassing at times.”
That being said, it does feel like Kendrick Perkins and Smith’s harsh words have got into the head of Miami Heat as they have significantly bounced back to win Game 6 at TD Garden. Being led by Jimmy Butler once again, with a tally of 47 points. Not only that, even Kyle Lowry rose to his best form to register 18 points against his name as Heat sends this series to Game 7 in their backyard with a 111-103 win. Will we witness the legendary of Butler being elaborated? Remains to be seen.
