Stephen A. Smith, the famous talk show host, has been the face of the NBA media for a long time. Having covered the NBA for decades, Stephen A. has worked with various co-hosts throughout his career.

His current co-hosts, Kendrick Perkins, the former NBA player, and Molly Qerim, have been the Dream Team of ESPN’s First Take.

Recently, the city of New York was shaken by a 4.8-magnitude earthquake on Friday morning. Stephen A. and his co-hosts were on their usual, covering the Warriors run, just when the earthquake struck. Stephen A. and Kendrick Perkins were not in New York at the time.

However, Molly Qerim was at First Take’s studio in New York, as she experienced the earthquake live on national television.

This is serious. Stephen A. I'm not even and Perk, I lived in LA for four years and I experienced like two earthquakes. Stephen A. I swear to you on everything, I think we just had an earthquake in New York. Like... the whole studio, everything.
Said Molly Qerim

The earthquake was centered around 40 miles west of the city, and its impact was felt in the Tri-State area as well.

Molly Qerim broke Stephen A Smith’s heart with Julius Randle’s update

Before experiencing the unexpected earthquake, Molly broke heartbreaking news that left Stephen A. in shambles. The Knicks announced that Julius Randle will be undergoing season-ending surgery after two months of rehab. Smith, being a die-hard Knicks fan, couldn’t bear the news, as he expressed his frustration and how unlucky the Knicks have been.

The Knicks made their second playoff appearance last year in over a decade. They managed to go as far as the second round, though they couldn’t go any further.

The squad is well-balanced and has a chance of making a deep playoff run this year, though without Randle, the Knicks will have to make some adjustments.

For the uninitiated, Stephen A. Smith has been a New York fan ever since his childhood. The last time the Knicks won a title was back in 1973 when Stephen A. was just five years old. Regardless of their performance last year, the Knicks have done a great job rebuilding a team with valuable assets and talented scorers.

With that being said, it will be interesting to see New York face the probable first opponent, the Orlando Magic, in the first round.
