Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry

Smith refuses to believe that another title in Curry’s cabinet is going to make him a better player in any aspect that KD.

When the Golden State Warriors won the championship thrice in the previous decade, the NBA Finals MVP was fetched by Kevin Durant over Stephen Curry, which clearly symbolized the former’s scoring prowess being better than the other members in Golden State. But now with Curry inches away from leading and inspiring his relatively young squad to their first title in this decade, should he be placed ahead of KD in the greatest basketballer’s rank?
Stephen Curry isn’t better than Kevin Durant as per Smith

Stephen A. Smith is more than willing to give Stephen Curry his flowers. The renowned broadcaster, however, stopped short when Kevin Durant was brought into the equation. Stephen A. was quick to point out that Curry cannot be in the same league as his former Golden State Warriors teammate.

“Resume? Yes,” Smith responded when asked if he thinks Stephen Curry will surpass KD if he wins the title this season. “As a player, No. Kevin Durant is one of the greatest scorers in the history of basketball. We have to remember that and when he was in Golden State with Steph Curry, even though it was Curry’s team, everybody and their mother knew Kevin Durant was a better player than Steph Curry.”
Curry and Durant are unarguably two of the greatest ever players to have enriched the league with their presence. Moreover, having played together in the past, modern day fans could acknowledge the greatness of these two spoken off players now more than ever. Does Smith’s opinion hold weight in deep water? Remains to be seen.
