Stephen Curry took to Instagram to bid farewell to his former teammate, Jordan Poole, who was sent to the Washington Wizards before the free agency started this year. Despite having a four-year $128 Million contract with Jordan, the Golden State Warriors let him go and got Chris Paul, famously known as CP3, in return. Poole, although having some clashes with the Warriors squad, was an integral part of their ring win in 2022.

Now that the trade is actually final, felt like I will come up here and just say to JP, how much I appreciated the four years brother. You’re a champion, you grew up right in front of everyone’s face,” is what Curry had to say in his heartfelt message.

Curry was quick to welcome his new teammate CP3 on his Instagram story. “CP, can’t wait to ride with you, brother. It’s gonna be different with us on the same side. Let’s get it!” Curry seems eager to chase more championships with the newly formed star-studded squad of Paul, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and himself.

Stephen Curry had nothing but kind words for his former teammate “So, can’t wait to see you blossom big fella. Can’t wait to see you shine in your own situation. Just looking forward to competing and obviously we’re a fan of everything you’ve become. Good luck to you!

He sounded sincere, but it must have been tough for him to say goodbye. The internet, of course, had a field day with his video message. Many people pointed out how he used to be bitter rivals with Paul, and now he has to act like he’s happy for him. Another person joked that he could have split his message into two videos: one for the welcome and one for the shade.

Curry also posted on the new threads app, saying, “North Carolina to the Bay!” to welcome Paul to the Warriors. Curry seems ready to “get it” with Paul and Green as his veteran teammates.

Draymond already praised CP3’s ability to mentor young players like Jonathan Kuminga. He [Draymond] said, “Chris Paul is going to help Kuminga grow so much. He [Chris Paul] knows how to work with young guys.” The question is how Curry and CP3, both point guards, will coexist on the court.
