“I had conversation with Adam Silver directly” Stephen Curry reveals thoughts on Robert Sarver selling Phoenix Suns
Stephen Curry and Robert Sarver
Stephen Curry is all over the NBA headlines. As on the media day of Golden State Warriors he spoke about the most controversial thing in the league, Robert Sarver’s situation. The Phoenix Suns and Mercury’s owner is on his way out from the league as he has decided to sell the teams after his wrongdoings and ill-mannerisms were revealed in a detailed and independent investigation by the league.
The reports were out for a year but he kept denying all those allegations. But now his dirty actions are caught and he’s getting kicked out peacefully. Stephen Curry believes the ending of it is right and is exactly what should have happened. He also revealed how he got on the phone with NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver to know more about the situation. And after doing his research and getting to know some more details about it, Stephen Curry recently delivered a take on it like the other top players.
Reports have revealed how bad of an owner Sarver was. In addition, he was a racist and bully. He is also accused of using the “N-Word” at least five times on different occasions. Robert was also booked for racism and sexual misconduct with several Suns and Mercury staff members. Over 70 victims have spoken out against him. The investigation also stated that Robert was also “engaged in instances of inequitable conduct toward female employees” and “made many sex-related comments in the workplace.”
The league punished Robert Sarver for it and suspended him for an entire season from NBA and WNBA and fined him $10 million due to inappropriate workplace conduct. The league also wants him to “complete training program focused on respect and appropriate workplace conduct”. But this didn’t satisfy many around as they wanted him kicked out. And, that’s exactly what’s happening as the team is listed for sale and it’s not forced by the league.
Stephen Curry is one of the strongest and loudest voices around the league. As the influence, he has had on the basketball world is unreal and unrepeatable. But for some reasons Chef was silent about the situation until Warriors’ media day. As Stephen ain’t the guy who’ll write paragraphs on Twitter as he’s the one who’ll willingly call things out if he thinks it’s necessary to.
So while speaking out on the Robert Sarver’s situation and the Phoenix Suns being listed for sale, Stephen Curry talked about all the important points. The FMVP also mentioned how it got dragged a little bit. But again it’s all good and okay until it ends well and that’s exactly what’s happening.
Stephen Curry’s take on Robert Sarver’s situation
Stephen Curry talking about Robert Sarver’s situation quoted: “The outcome was exactly like what should have happened. I had conversations with Adam Silver directly and kind of got his point of view of what decisions. And, I guess, mechanisms he had to intervene and bring down a punishment that was worthy of the actions that we were all responding to and representing the league as a whole and protecting the integrity of the league and the standard that we set terms of from execs, ownership, all the way down to players.”
Further, Stephen Curry added: “There should be a standard around what’s tolerable and what’s not and so. Again The outcome was exactly what it should have been. Honestly, I thought with the punishment that was handed down, it would have dragged out a little longer, but I’m glad we got to a point where hopefully the team is up for sale sooner than later and can kind of move on knowing that’s where it should be.”
Chef appreciating the efforts of everyone involved also mentioned: “So for LeBron, CP, Draymond, everybody using their platforms to speak on it, even Adam picking up the phone and answering calls from the top players who have vested interests in protecting the league as well, all that stuff matters. And you want to have swift responses and reactions to stuff like that.”
Stephen Curry is just an honest man as he said his heart out on the situation and gave a real take to the media with perfect details. The Warriors are really blessed to have him as their franchise star and now they’ll try their best to defend the title in the coming season as the action is about to begin.
