“We have a little competition going, and Jordan Poole took the lead tonight” Stephen Curry reveals true feelings to Jordan Poole’s insane half court buzzer beater in Game 2
Jordan Poole's 3-pointer earns Stephen Curry's respect
Warning ! bring your bathing suit, because it’s a ‘Poole Party’ of epic proportions. Jordan Poole knocked down an insane 3-pointer, at the cusp of the buzzer in the 3rd quarter, and Stephen Curry couldn’t be more pleased for his teammate. Golden State don’t give up, they conquer, which is what they did as they defended their home court in an emphatic 107-88 victory against the Eastern Conference Champions, Boston Celtics, to tie the series going into Boston. After having a poor display in Game 1, Jordan Poole finally arrived in the series, and he did it in style by draining a deep 3-pointer, which made the NBA Fans go bonkers.
The score at halftime was 52-50 in favour of the Warriors, with the Celtics snapping at their heels. The 3rd quarter began , and so did the decimation by the Warriors, as they were spearheaded by their ‘Achilles’, Stephen Curry. It was absolute carnage at the Chase Centre as Curry put on a show and Poole topped it off with a jaw-dropping 3 pointer. Steph Curry led the way for Golden State with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists, while Jordan Poole added 17 points off of the bench. The Warriors forced 18 Boston turnovers and they scored 33 points off of those turnovers, which was a big factor in the outcome of the game.
Jayson Tatum paced the Celtics with 28 points and 6 rebounds, with 21 of those coming in the first half itself. However, his production wasn’t enough as only two other Celtics players scored in double figures. Jaylen Brown added 17 for the Celtics, but fought through a 5-for-17 shooting night, and Derrick White scored 12.Now, the series shifts to Boston for Games 3 and 4.

““I have endless range, I guess.” Jordan Poole’s ridiculous 3-pointer impressed Stephen Curry
Are Steph and Klay still auditioning for the 3rd ‘Splash Brother’, their hunt is over as Jordan Poole has shown us a glimpse of his potential with the head scratching 3-pointer in Game 2. Poole had struggled so far in the NBA Finals to find a rhythm, but the third-year pro finally found his groove in the closing moments of the third quarter of Game 2 on Sunday night. With the Warriors again blitzing the Boston Celtics in the third quarter at Chase Center, Poole put the finishing touches on a 35-14 period. Poole closed the quarter by hitting two deep 3-pointers, pushing the Warriors’ lead from 17 to 23 heading into the fourth quarter.
The serene sound of the ball swishing the net was music to the ears for all Basketball enthusiasts around the globe. The 39-foot jump shot was the third longest made shot in the NBA Finals over the last 25 years. “I want the ball at all of the end of the quarters and the shot clocks. I have endless range, I guess.” Poole said, and he isn’t joking about his range. Everyone knew his shooting prowess was top-notch, that Michigan Houston buzzer beater was one of the filthiest baskets ever, one that he scored while he played for his college team.
It’s tradition at Golden State, we had become accustomed to seeing Steph attempting the final shot of any period no matter where on the hardwood he is on. However, during the dying seconds of the 3rd period, Poole completely ignored The Baby-Faced Assassin and went on to knock down a mammoth 3-pointer, which gave the Warriors a 23 point lead. Steph further went on to laud Jordan for the shot in the postgame presser, and admitted he and Poole have an ongoing half court competition in practice.
“We talk about how we finish quarters and how that momentum carries over. So obviously, that was a big shot, to get the crowd into it. Put a kind of a dagger on that great third quarter we had.
He’s capable of it. We shoot half-court shots every practice, shootaround. We have a little competition going. If you make one during the game, we count it. So he took the lead tonight.” Curry said, visibly very pleased with Poole and the entire team in general for taking this Dub to Boston.
“That was a huge finish to the third and it was important, they got the momentum at the end of the third quarter in game one by knocking down four free throws to cut it to 12. We had it to 17, they cut it to 12. This time we had it around 17 and ramped it up to 24. Totally different finish to the quarter, way better for us momentum-wise and Jordan played a big role in that.” Even the head coach, Steve Kerr couldn’t stop praising the impact Poole had on the court today.
We warned you, beware of the Splash Brothers. The Warriors will be content to take this victory, however, in the words of the legendary Kobe Bryant, “Job’s Not Finished”. All is not lost for Boston, the Celtics need to only win their remaining home games to become champions, though that won’t be easy against a Warriors team that has won at least one road game in an NBA-record 26 consecutive playoff series. Things are getting serious, it’s going to go down the wire, as the armies battle it out in Michigan, who will emerge with the NBA Trophy, prepare to be entertained as Game 3 comes up !
