“He’s a dynamic scorer and has already taken a major step” Stephen Curry reveals why Jayson Tatum will be a ‘problem’ ahead of the NBA finals showdown
Stephen Curry on Boston Celtics
Stephen Curry is now on his way toward competing in his sixth finals appearance in eight seasons. The last time the Golden State Warriors made the finals was during the 2018-19 season coming off a championship reign. They would end up losing to the Toronto Raptors because of two terrible timed injuries.
After over two seasons, Klay Thompson finally made his debut this season. He is a very beneficial offensive piece that many believe will help the Bay Area team win the title once again. Thompson erupted during closeout games of the last two series averaging 31 points combined. This season, the Warriors have shown a very balanced out roster with Curry leading them through.
Golden State Warriors set to challenge the Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics slammed the Miami Heat during the Eastern Conference Finals with their elite defensive plays led by Al Horford and Marcus Smart. For the Heat, Jimmy Butler was battling through a knee inflammation which had him sit out during Game 3. Games 4 and 5 were terrible for him but the star quickly broke out scoring 47 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists helping him extend their chances.
Jayson Tatum schooled Miami in the elimination round finishing with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists shooting 9 of 21 from the field. Besides Tatum, another star player by the name of Jaylen Brown has also been looked over often despite having a lot of effect on the team’s productivity. He put up 24.1 points against the Heat which included a 40-point performance in Game 3. Both players are also good on defense for the most part which could be problematic for Stephen Curry and the Warriors.
Stephen Curry recognizes Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown as problem
As the Celtics prepare to appear in their first-ever final as a group, the veteran point guard and greatest three-point shooter of all-time Stephen Curry had some words showing he was not taking the finals lightly despite his experience and dominance of the team. “Tatum is a dynamic scorer and he’s taken another step in terms of reading how certain defenses are going at him,” said Curry.
“He’s had some clutch moments in big games, he’s a problem… Jaylen Brown has obviously shown his scoring ability and he can take over a game and dominate from start to finish.” He further elaborated on how he feels the series will turn out saying, “Its going to be an amazing test. They have some guys playing at a high level, a very rounded team. They have size and they’ve been battle-tested this playoff run.”
