Stephen Curry takes his opportunity as host to roast
Stephen Curry earned his first ever hosting gig and is the second NBA player to do so. During the opening monologue, he had jabs directed toward several people and notably the Los Angeles Lakers for their terrible season. “Super Bowl champions! I know that sounds great. It was so inspiring watching y’all play, watching y’all win a Super Bowl, watching y’all celebrate. And it’s just inspiring to see that strategy of buying old superstars pay off for a local team around here.”
“Hey, (Dikembe) Mutombo, where you at? I hear you’re looking for a 10-day (contract)? Yes? Or no, no, no no! I’ll let Rob Pelinka know.” He also threw some shade at LeBron James after getting the opportunity to host saying, “I am the second NBA player to host this awards show, which is kind of crazy to think about. LeBron James, he hosted this award show back in 2007 after losing in the NBA Finals. So yes, you guessed it, this feels better.”
