The Golden State Warriors played against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday at home. The last-seed Spurs won the game 126-113 and shocked the 10th-seed Warriors.
The Warriors’ performance was rather disappointing, as the team has recently started playing better and getting into the rhythm.
The Warriors and Spurs were both missing their star players in the matchup. Stephen Curry sprained his ankle in the last game against the Bulls. He will be re-evaluated on Tuesday. Victor Wembanyama also missed the game due to a right ankle sprain.
Other than Curry, the entire Warriors team is now healthy and active. Hence, fans were shocked by the team’s underwhelming performance.
But other than the shocking loss, another moment has caught fans’ attention. In the audience, the fans spotted a look-alike of the Warriors’ head coach, Steve Kerr. The fan was shown during NBC’s broadcast. The video quickly went viral on social media, as the resemblance was uncanny.
The funny moment was enjoyed by Warriors fans as they got a break from the upsetting game. In the loss, Warriors’ forward Jonathan Kuminga scored 26 points, and guard Klay Thompson scored 27 points off the bench. Other players on the team, including the starters, barely scored in double digits.
Fans on social media were in splits at the Steve Kerr look-a-like
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is considered one of the best coaches in NBA history. Last month, Kerr signed a $35 million, two-year contract extension with the Warriors. This contract made him the highest-paid coach in NBA history.
This did not stop the fans from trolling the HC after the clip of his lookalike during the Warriors vs. Spurs game went viral. The look-alike’s similar haircut and attire made the resemblance uncanny. Fans reacted to the hilarious clip on X.
Sharing a wide spectrum of reactions online, here’s what fans have to say:
The Warriors have now lost their 30th game of the season. Spurs guard Keldon Johnson scored a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Which team had the most points and rebounds? The Warriors need to get consecutive wins to get a chance in the playoffs.
