Jaylen Brown has made his way back to the NBA headlines. The reason isn’t him getting traded away or signing an extension. Instead, it’s the fans hating on him for not living up to the expectations during the Eastern Conference Finals where the Miami Heat eliminated the Boston Celtics. But this time the fans have leveled up their troll game for Jaylen Brown by comparing him to Taylor Swift’s dance moves.
The internet is still mad at Jaylen Brown for his poor performance against the Miami Heat in the ECF. He averaged 19.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 7 games in the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals. Now that stat line isn’t bad, but he was horrible on the defensive end while shooting 41% from the field and only 16.3% from downtown. He could have had a very strong impact if he practised some off-ball defense and left-hand handles.
But nothing can be changed now after the disappointing end to the Boston Celtics’ championship dream this year. The fans though are back at clowning him but this time are comparing his off-ball defense with Taylor Swift’s dance moves. The American singer-songwriter has many viral and rattling dance moves. One of those resembles a defensive basketball stance that the fans are using to clown Jaylen Brown.

In a viral concert clip, Taylor Swift is seen dancing while entertaining the fans with her song. The following dance move is very similar to a defensive stance and she has also combined it with a little shimmy-like step as she jumps right to left. Jaylen Brown is a solid defender when guarding the ball handler. But he’s often caught sleeping or lacking on the off-ball defense which creates a window for easy buckets for the opposition team.
So, he really has to work on it and also improve his left-hand handles. As of now, his future with the Boston Celtics is uncertain as he is yet to sign his extension and is a part of many rumors.
