“He had a HIT LIST” – Teenage Kobe Bryant had psychotic OBSESSION to GOAT, reveals Stephen Jackson

Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant is undoubtedly one of the greatest players ever to touch a basketball. Also, the genuine basketball world knows we are never going to see anybody like or even close to the heights of Bryant. His road to greatness didn’t start in High School or when he got drafted. He was locked in since he was a teenager. Many teenagers dream of being the greatest and making it to the league. But Black Mamba was a level up and even had a hit list of players he wanted to humble.

On the recent episode of “All The Smoke,” podcast, Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes revealed what actually separated Kobe Bryant from others. They did this while answering a question by guest, Tyrese who was curious about Kobe Bryant’s greatness. Stephen Jackson clearing his doubt revealed how Kobe Bryant was obsessed with the GOAT status growing up and wanted to be better than anyone in his way to do so.

Stephen Jackson revealing the hit list story of Kobe Bryant quoted: “Most people as a teenager, especially, all of us we were thinking of just playing basketball, having fun, gotta mess with girls. At a young age, he has a hit list of all the top players in our class and he was focused on being better and destroying all of them when he seen them. As a teenager, I don’t know any other teenager from our era playing basketball that was thinking like that… He was thinking about being the greatest basketball player of all time as a teenager.”

Further, Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes both went on to add the several moments they were around Kobe Bryant. And, there how they knew he was just different and special from others. Even Tyrese got his doubt cleared. Bryant was really special but what got him ahead of others was his mamba mentality, hard work, willpower, and all those extra hours and efforts he put into the game while sacrificing the off-court life. He really is the GOAT and we will never see anyone even climb up to the edges of his great journey.

Kobe Bryant during his appearance on “All The Smoke,” podcast revealed the hit list he had when he was 13. He didn’t just give out the idea but also named the players it featured Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes. While doing so Kobe Bryant quoted: “Tim Thomas… People ranked higher, cause going into my sophomore year, I was probably ranked somewhere in like probably top 200…Something like that. And then it kinda went up. Hundred, fifty, and then by the time I was a senior, it hit number one.”

Further, adding the names Black Mamba said: “JO, Jermaine (O’Neal) was up there. Lester Earl, Shaheen Holloway, Corey Benjamin, Mike Bibby. It was fun getting to know everybody…”

Kobe Bryant was a different beast and him getting into the league just after high school makes sense now. As he was already done chasing and proving himself to the other great players in his draft class and wanted to waste no time as MJ was about to retire. Many doubted him but shutting all of them down today he is remembered as one of the greatest ever and is even the GOAT for many.
