“That ain’t the way,” Ja Rule BLAMES hip-hop for Ja Morant’s ‘unnecessary’ downfall
Hip-hop star Ja Rule claims that the influence of hip-hop and Morant's friend group have contributed to his actions over the past few weeks

Ja Morant
Hip-hop star Ja Rule claims that hip-hop culture is a contributing factor to Ja Morant’s behavior off-late. “Hip Hop is very influential. I’ve done things in my youth because of hip-hop,” said Ja Rule in an interview with TMZ. Morant was caught with a gun while partying in a strip club, a common setting in modern hip-hop music.
“Redman started rolling a blunt. We started smoking blunts. Snoop made Gin and juice. We started smoking Gin and juice,” said Ja Rule. The hip-hop industry has been very connected to the NBA community. As the common saying goes, ‘ NBA players want to rap, and rappers want to be NBA players.’ Ja Rule emphasized the relevance of hip-hop in the modern era but emphasized the responsibility Ja has as a player.
“Hip-hop is influential for sure. How far people take it is what it is… The thing with Ja is I hope he has better people around him to tell him ‘that ain’t the way,'” said Ja Rule. Multiple media members have criticized Morant for not being in good company. Ja’s group has also got him in trouble on occasions outside his strip club incident.

Ja Morant is one of many NBA players to be consumed by hip-hop culture

Ja Morant, what he did in the strip club is inexcusable, and he has apologized for it. However, the influence of hip-hop on his decisions is not new. Since hip-hop became mainstream, NBA players have hung out with hip-hop artists much more since the 2000s, and the NBA exploded with talent. Allen Iverson was among the first players to bring hip-hop culture to the NBA with his courtside fashion and charisma.
James Harden is a well-known friend of rapper Lil Baby and has been spotted partying with hip-hop artist in different countries. Harden is also known for frequently visiting strip clubs during road games like Ja Morant did in Denver. Morant’s actions differ from his peers regarding how responsible he has been while carrying them out.
Morant will be awaiting his return to the league to show everyone that he is still an all-star and not an irresponsible kid anymore. Hip-hop and NBA culture go together very well, but there are lines people do not cross in both places, and Morant crossed one with his video. Ja Rule is just one amongst many people Ja Morant is taking advice from before he can return to an NBA court and hopefully prove everyone wrong.
